A very old, mid-season variety, culinary Gooseberry Invicta is widely grown for its exceptionally high yields. The berries are large, yellowish-green, with a good flavour when cooked or preserved. Can be eaten fresh when fully ripe, although the flavour as a dessert gooseberry is not first-rate. The bush is very vigorous and spreading, fast-growing, and extremely thorny
